THE IRISH SHOWS ASSOCIATION & TULLAMORE SHOW SOCIETY PRESENT
The Odlums All Ireland Home Baking Cooking Championship
Sponsored by: Odlums
Rules & Conditions
1. Each competitor will bake 4 items using Odlums products:
a. High Fibre Health Bread (baked in 900g / 2lb Loaf Tin) 
b. Battenberg Cake
c. 6 Savoury Muffins (using your own creativity)
d. Jam Filled Swiss Roll
2. The items should be displayed on a base, not more than 24” x 24” accompanied by an empty bag of the Odlums product used in the recipe
3. Points will be awarded for taste, texture and presentation – which should be simple
4. The competition is confined to amatures, both male and female, with only one entry per exhibitor at the final (winner of last years final is not permitted to enter)
5. The items must be freah and home baked by the exhibitor
6. A special class will be held at each qualifying show. The winner from each of these shows will go forward to the final, to be held at the Tullamore Show, on Sunday August 14th 2011
7. All items will be cut and / or sampled at the final
8. Each of the successful qualifiers will receive a hamper containing Odlums products, on appearance at the final
9. The judges decisions at all stages of the competition IS FINAL
10. Exhibits are displayed at owners risk
11. These rules should be read in conjunction with the Irish Shows

PLEASE NOTE: At the final, exhibits MUST be placed by 10.30am and may not be removed before 5.30pm. The marquee will be open from 8.30am

RULES & CONDITIONS
1. Each exhibitor will bake / make 3 items

(a) Decorate Chocolate Victoria Sandwich Cake
(b) 6 Chocolate Butterfly Cakes
(c) 6 Chocolate Chip Oatie Biscuits

2. The items to be displayed as one exhibit on a base of 2ft x 2ft approx.
3. Points will be awarded for texture, taste and festive presentation suitable for Afternoon Tea.
4. Competition is open to amateurs male or female and one tray to qualify per exhibitor
5. All items to be home made by exhibitor.
6. A special qualifying class will be held at selected shows. Two trays may qualify for the final if the judges agree the standard is high enough.
7. Judges decision will be final at all stages of the competition
8. Exhibits displayed at owners risk.
9. These rules to be read in conjunction with the Irish Shows Association rules.

The All Ireland Domestic Arts Championship

RULES & CONDITIONS

1. Each exhibit to consist of any four items from the list below
* Pot of Jam any type or Apple Tart
* Apple or Rhubarb Tart
* Any article of Knitting, Crochet or Embroidery.
* Hand-made picture, any medium, max 60cm x 45cm
* Bouquet or tied bunch of fresh garden flowers or six sweet pea
* Dish of Home grown fruit (dish 8” max)
* Two types of vegetable (excluding potatoes). 3 per type
   
2. The articles must be the sole work of the exhibitor who must have amature status & all items entered should be either made or grown by the exhibitor
3. Exhibitors may qualify once only  
4. This competition will be judged on a points system.
5. Two exhibitors from each qualifying show.
6. If an item from any article in knitting, crochet or embroidery category is chosen, hand or machine will suffice.

Exhibits to be in place before 11.30am on day of final judging.
Entry Fee: To qualifying show €3 – To final €6

PRIZES: 1st €250: 2nd €200; 3rd €130; 4th €65; 5th to 25th  €30 each

Fancy entering the Wife Carrying Competition at the County Louth Agricultural Show? You must be over 18 and couples taking part must be male/female. You can be married, a couple, best friends it doesn’t matter. The course is ¼ mile long with various obstacles and 5 heats with a maximum of 10 couples in each heat. The winner of each heat will get into the final where they could win a break to the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Dublin. Entry fee per couple is €5 with all proceeds to going to charity. See you there!
